Yesterday, I photographed 4 families at Oven Park back to back--what a marathon! I found out my battery ran low after about 3 hours of shooting. Luckily there was an outdoor outlet I could use to recharge momentarily before photographing the 4th family.
Here's a new image of Caitlin (whom I haven't seen in ages!) who has become a beautiful and vibrant young lady!
At the same wedding, I photographed Mark's niece so here's a new image for the Angels series (blended with a cloud photograph that I took during our flight to OH).
So these are the ornament designs that I will make for this holiday season. The prints will be inserted into clear mini-bookmark sleeves sized 2.75x3.46.
Last month, we attended my sister-in-law's wedding in OH and I photographed her stepdaughter. This time, I did not blend a cloud image with her. Instead I used an image of a clear blue sky that I had photographed this past weekend.
This image was inspired by my sister's mother-in-law, Lydia. Lydia's husband recently had a stroke and is going through rehab right now. My sister tells me how Lydia devotedly visits her husband every day to take care of him. Perhaps this image will be the first in a series titled Devoted Wives.
I was inspired to do this series due to Gi being bothered by 2 boys at school. Her mother told me that the boys would whisper to her during circle time.
Come out to see the show! I have one diptych in it titled "A Teacher's Fantasy; A Teacher's Nightmare". The reception is Friday, June 10, 7--9 pm, at the FSU Museum of Fine Arts.
Here's an image from a photo shoot yesterday. Ms Zyeedah Willis, my co-worker, asked me to photograph her 5 Loaves Mission monthly feeding at a convenience store on Springhill Rd. Here she is with her sister praying for someone.
OK, my Summer series (see April 10 blog entry) will be exhibited at LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts. Come out and see the show! Opening reception is First Friday, June 3, 6--9pm.
Wow, recently (April 23) I was able to photograph 4 families in one day at Oven Park! It was a bonanza! So here are some images from that photo session.
LeMoyne recently announced that their upcoming June exhibit is titled "Dog Days of Summer"--a photo exhibit depicting summer in the south. So that gave me an idea to work on this series: St George Island beach, Smokey Mts National Park and Issaqueena Falls, SC. Each image also depicts a summer flower: morning glory, daisy, balloon flower.
Spring break! Yeah! It's given me some time to review photo shoots from 2010. Here are three new images. Will I start a Pairs series? The white flower is the first clematis bloom in our backyard!
I've been working on a self-portrait series for the upcoming Artists' League Summer Annual exhibit. The theme is psychological self-portrait. This one is more about the roles we play in society, titled "Social Niceties".
This tryptich is part of the What Came Before Us series, using vintage photographs of grandma (maternal), mom and me.
