Fairy Bride Series?

This is the first Fairy Bride (late Nanette Fisher, co-founder of LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts). I hope to make a series for the upcoming Swamp Buddha Sumi-e Group show at the Brokaw-McDougal House here in Tallahassee. Does anyone have an old wedding photo/portrait of your mom? Windows Art Project September 4--23, 2009

I did a photo piece for LeMoyne's Windows Art Project. It's titled "Guardian Angels of LeMoyne" and depicts Dick Puckett, Betty Lessinger and Sam Fleeger behind a LeMoyne window. Go check out the exhibit soon!

We visited the Fahringers in Jefferson City TN. Marilyn took us hiking at Big Creek in the park and drove us up to Max Patch. We hiked to the top. What a vista!

5 Rings of Passion Exhibit June 12--July 10, 2009

Here are 2 of 3 pieces that I submitted to the Artists' League Summer Annual exhibit: 5 Rings of Passion. Both pieces address the theme of "love". The piece on the right is actually by me and Mark. I illustrated one of Mark's poems, "Your Love Shines Through". The one on the left is titled "A Mother's Love".

In Honor of Mother's Day

Here's a piece/theme I've been thinking about for the Artists' League 5 Rings of Passion Summer Annual exhibit. I finally made it today, just in time for Mother's Day. This is titled "A Mother's Love".

This one I combined Mark's poem with my image. This is also for the 5 Rings of Passion exhibit.

Swamp Buddhas' Exhibit at FAMU

Good news! The Swamp Buddhas will exhibit their work at FAMU's Foster Tanner Art Gallery during the month of March. Come out and see the show! We'll have a reception on Friday, March 6. I'll exhibit some of my nature-themed prints.

Here are some more images I created today. I'm hoping to develop mini-series of subject matter so that I can get them printed as cards, perhaps selling them 2 designs at a time in a clear package.

Swallowtail Blooms

This weekend, I worked on some more images for the Blooms series, this time with a swallowtail butterfly. I created six images--5 have been posterized and 1 (with orange flowers) has the background layer inverted.

Princess Fairy 1

Lately, my niece Gi has been obsessed with dressing up as a "princess". So during winter break, I tried to photograph her in her various "princess" outfits. Here's one as a Princess Fairy, probably the first in a series.

I had submitted 10 holiday themed cards for sale at LeMoyne during their Art of Giving holiday sale: 2 poinsettias, 4 boy angel fairies and 4 girl angel fairies. Interestingly, only the girl angel fairies and 2 poinsettias were sold. Guess people don't want to buy images of boy angel fairies??
