Spring Spirits

My sister's birthday is coming up (April 19) so I created two images for her birthday card--in honor of her birthday and spring! We'll see the gang in Orlando that weekend so I hope to take some up-to-date pix of my niece, Angelina.

Beautiful Dogwoods!

Dogwoods are blooming all over Tallahassee right now! On Tuesday, Mark and I stopped to photograph a flowering dogwood tree in the Callen neighborhood on our way home from work. Here are 3 images using the magic wand tool. Tomorrow I may photograph the blooming azaleas too.

Having Fun with the Magic Wand

I've been working on making new images for my upcoming exhibit at LightnUp Gallery in Havana. The magic wand tool in Photoshop makes for interesting selections. I've also had to learn about resampling and cropping for correct dimensions since I'm having my images printed professionally by a photo lab (www.whcc.com). So far, I've set up an account with them and I've also ordered basic matts from www.redimat.com.

Winter Sunrise/Exhibit

Thanks to Swamp Buddha Diana Orrick, I've been invited to exhibit as a guest artist at her coop gallery (http://www.lightnupartcoop.com/index.html) for April/May. The reception will be on April 12. I'll probably exhibit 4-6 framed prints, unframed prints and greeting cards.
Perhaps this new piece, Winter Sunrise, will be available. Come out and see the show!

Today I walked in the woods and photographed some trees. Here's another Photoshop practice: using the Gradient tool.

Where Am I?

I am in a "Palm Tree" painting by Ron Yrebedra. Dr Y is retired professor of Art Education from FAMU. He is well know for his variety of "Palm Tree" paintings.
