Maternity Photo Session with the Lewis Family!

This is my first time photographing at the new Cascades Park. It was very sunny and bright. There weren't too many shady spots since this is a new park with young trees. So we photographed at the seating area overlooking the stream and at the amphitheater.

Here is another Fairy Orb image. I am creating this series based on my European travels. Last night I applied for the Artists' League Professional Development Award. I explained on my application that I am working on this series for an Artport Gallery proposal to COCA (www.cocanet.org). Also this series is influenced/inspired by my TV watching. One time, I was watching the BBC series Merlin. In one scene, Merlin was being healed by river nymphs floating around him in water bubbles. That image gave me the idea of fairies in "orbs". Recently I had been watching HBO True Detective. In the opening credit scenes, a lot of images from the show are collaged or layered while flowing in and out. Hence I have been using "blending" techniques in this series. Each image contains photographs that I took at each location on my trips. Of course each image also contains an "orb". Interestingly I tried using a figurative image in the orbs but that didn't work out for some reason. So these fairies have no figures or wings--just little spheres!

This is a new series. I'm hoping to use these images to submit a proposal to COCA Art in Public Places Artport Gallery titled Travels in Europe: Fairies, Snapshots, Sketches. The proposal would also include travel sketches by Mark and photos by Robert. Can you see the fairy "orb" in each image?

Postcards of Farm Animals

These images are in press now. Soon these standard-sized postcards will be on sale at the Tallahassee Museum gift shop (www.tallahasseemuseum.org). Mark sketched these farm animals at the museum for the upcoming Sketchcrawling @ the Museum III exhibit February 15--April 20. I designed the backgrounds for them. These patterns were inspired by the wallpapers in the current BBC Sherlock Holmes series.
