Dog Days: Summer in the South June 3--25, 2011

OK, my Summer series (see April 10 blog entry) will be exhibited at LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts. Come out and see the show! Opening reception is First Friday, June 3, 6--9pm.

Wow, recently (April 23) I was able to photograph 4 families in one day at Oven Park! It was a bonanza! So here are some images from that photo session.

Summer Series

LeMoyne recently announced that their upcoming June exhibit is titled "Dog Days of Summer"--a photo exhibit depicting summer in the south. So that gave me an idea to work on this series: St George Island beach, Smokey Mts National Park and Issaqueena Falls, SC. Each image also depicts a summer flower: morning glory, daisy, balloon flower.

Pairs Series?

Spring break! Yeah! It's given me some time to review photo shoots from 2010. Here are three new images. Will I start a Pairs series? The white flower is the first clematis bloom in our backyard!

Psychological Self Portraits

I've been working on a self-portrait series for the upcoming Artists' League Summer Annual exhibit. The theme is psychological self-portrait. This one is more about the roles we play in society, titled "Social Niceties".

This tryptich is part of the What Came Before Us series, using vintage photographs of grandma (maternal), mom and me.
